first of all… the epilogue aint even out yet and everyone and they mamas are complaining abt izuocha being canon. first off, nothing is confirmed. a handshake and blushing isn’t confirming anything!! second of all, even if it is canon, so what?!

the argue of it ruining ochako’s character development is not only so untrue, but just plain stupid. a major point of toga and ochako’s interactions and overall relationship is that ochako shouldn’t hide her feelings and that toga showed her that. even if the panel is a love confession, that just continues her character development because hiding her feelings also included her feelings for izuku.

im not saying that there wasn’t a possibility of ochako being in love with toga, im saying that you guys missed one of the most beautiful parts of such a complex relationship. also toga is DEAD. and it happened over 10 YEARS AGO!! She is allowed to move on. Like I’m a Togachako truther okay, but I do believe it could be seen as her pushing Ochako to move on, and also be in touch with her feelings. It doesn’t mean that it couldn’t have happened in another life.

I like the idea of her getting to move on with her life. And finally feeling like she doesn’t have to hide her feelings. Also, she’s at a state where she’s financially and mentally stable. I don’t really see how that would be a bad place to have a relationship.

And on the topic of Izuku, you guys.. and im gonna hold your hand when I say this..

Bakudeku had ZERO chance of becoming canon. Rarely will you see in a shonen anime a well written queer character, let alone queer relationship. You could argue that Toga was, but it doesn’t really seem like that was the idea he had in mind for Izuku.

Katsuki confesses to Izuku, and Izuku doesn’t want Kacchan to suffer or feel like he has to hold back his feelings. So he tells him not to. Kacchan takes this offer and runs with it. Izuku quickly realises that while he hadn’t considered Kacchan as a romantic option, he is in fact absolutely in love with him… but Kacchan thinks Izuku deserves better than him. Izuku, of course, can’t let that stand. And now they’re engaged in some sort of psychological flirt-off, much to the dismay of everyone around them.

Note: I LOVE the characterisation of Deku, he’s an absolute disaster, but I can see that it might be love it or hate it as the author does exaggerate his social issues a lot. While fighting a villain, Kacchan disappears. Turns out, the villain has a parallel universe swapping quirk, and he was aiming to swap number one hero Deku for a quirkless civilian. Except, the only world the villain could find where Deku isn’t a hero is one where Kacchan is dead — so when Katsuki took the blow, no one swapped with him, and now no one knows how to get him back. Meanwhile, Katsuki discovers a dystopian world where half his friends are dead or injured — not to mention this world’s Deku, who is all sorts of broken up over meeting an adult Kacchan. Will he be able to fix the problems with this world before he gets home? And which world will he choose to stay in?

Note: I've never watched pacific rim and had no issues with understanding what was going on. Author said there were lots of references, but you don't need existing knowledge to enjoy this.

All Izuku’s ever wanted is to save the world with his best friend… but his life doesn’t seem to be headed in that direction, especially when he doesn’t make it through the physical entrance exam for the best Jaeger pilot training school, UA. But after seeing him ace a Kaiju simulation, the world’s greatest ranger, All Might, intervenes, and Izuku is able to enrol at UA after all. Unsurprisingly, Kacchan’s there too — and their drift compatibility is through the roof. Much to Izuku’s dismay, even piloting a Jaeger together isn’t enough to regain their close friendship as children. Will almost dying (twice) be enough for them to finally be truly honest with each other?

This take. This take right here encapsulates everything wrong with the MHA Fandom as a whole. Yes, being a MHA is like all of that ecxept you are also working with the nazis you disgusting waste of human being. Your fandom made a mediocre piece of story and media rise to absurd proportions where I see awful takes as MHA being good when its not. It is a mediocre waste of potential. Your community and fandom are worth of being called one of the worst fandoms ever when all of you tainted even more the image of the lgbt and neurodivergent folk even more than it already is. Headcanons and shipping helped a lot with this because now being neurodivergent and queer could be associated with being like Deku and Bakugo, awfully written characters which people ship when it is objectively and morally wrong. Because yeah there is nothing wrong with shipping when there is and bakudeku is proof of that but all of you are way too horny to realize that shit. Shipping just serves to normalize abuse and stereotypes if done wrong. It is all so frustrating. Horikoshi should've been the one to die instead of Toriyama and Kentaro Miura, had Horikoshi died nothing of value would've been lost and we would've never had this plague on Earth that is MHA. I would pray to God that every MHA fan that made ill towards everyone mainly the lgbt and neurodivergent folk to pay severely, but the fact that MHA exist and grew the way it grew is objective proof that wathever God we have is a cruel and objectively evil one to give us a plague that is Horikoshi and his disgusting child MHA

Anti-Endhawks takes to debunk

"Endeavor is 46, and Hawks is 23; why do you ship them?"

That's all on personal preference, tbh. It's cool if you find the age gap to be uncomfortable. It's important to point out that both characters met when Hawks was a pro-hero (meaning he was already an adult when they first started working together as a duo). Endeavor himself did not know of Hawks when he was younger. If Endeavor knew Hawks as a child and the relationship was formed due to that, then I would also have an issue with the ship itself and understand this saying for argument purposes.

There is already a canon age gap between Gentle and La Brava, and no one talks about how the age gap is bothersome for them, with Gentle being in his early 30s and La Brava in her early 20s. I think from what I've been seeing that people just don't like Endeavor as a character (which is fair if that's the case. You don't have to love his character or anything). Still, it would be good if some antis were honest about using this take as a reason to shun the ship in general.

"Endeavor is still married to Rei; therefore, he is still connected to his family that they had."

Yes, Endeavor is a part of the Todoroki storyline since his perspective alongside Touya and Shoto's is very important for readers to pay attention to. His relationship with Rei Horikoshi has shown that it quickly changed despite their relationship starting out as wholesome and healthy in the early stages. We see very fast that the love that Rei and Endeavor once had turned sour once they began having children, and Endeavor tried to push his goal of having that perfect child with the ideal quirk. Now, whether the two reconcile and come back together is anyone's guess; I'm assuming that Horikoshi won't have Rei and Endeavor get back together, and they will most likely separate due to everything that has happened in their relationship and family in general.

This reasoning, out of all the anti-endhawk ones, is probably the most reasonable if I'm being honest, since the Todorokis are shown still having some connection back to each other. We are still determining how the aftermath of it all will play out.

For story purposes, he is very much connected to Rei since they both are responsible for saving Touya. But it's good to note that when it comes to Endhawk's relationship, they don't display the typical power imbalance that most people would expect from out-of-age gap ships. In fact, when it comes to their overall dynamic, both characters respect each other as equals and have this bickering/bantering dynamic, especially during their early interactions; they both care for one another, as seen in the panels below.

"Hawks would hate Endeavor if he knew his past."

This take has been a common argument circling around the fandom before Dabi broadcasts his reveal to the world. I have to say, I was curious what Hawk's thoughts would have been if he found out Endeavor's past, but after he explained that despite the wrongs Endeavor has done in his life, he still would support him and do his best to help him out whenever he needed him. To me, it showed how much he trusted him; he views Endeavor as the person who is trying to atone for everything he has done to those around him rather than the person he once was; and this trust that the two of them have extends into the final arc as well.

If there are other takes I should probably tackle; I'll make a separate thread for those. But I am also working on a Bakudeku version of this as well (so look forward to that one 😊❤️)

One thing that bothers me about the fandom is the hyper-infantilization they put on Izuku, like making him look like a five-year-old child, or making him all delicate and innocent. This irritates me on a level that makes me wonder why this, like drawing him as a teenager, and also this happens a lot in the MLM ships that Izuku is placed in.

I'm of the belief that fans can characterize fictional characters how they want, BUT I totally understand your frustration. Personally, I also don't love this especially in relation to BakuDeku because it only serves to make Bakugou look better.

It's important to realize that most who do this aren't Izuku fans. They're either Bakugou or Todoroki fans (or Shigaraki fans, I've seen the same problem with ShigDeku on a smaller scale). We care about Izuku as his own character, past propping him for other characters' benefits so we detest that most content from him comes from people who don't understand or care for him the same way we do.

(I've had this issue with many of my favorites. Kataang shippers usually are Aang fans, Catradora shippers are usually Catra fans, most Broppy shippers are Branch fans, etc. And that's fine, but I think a lot of my issues with this come from the fact that their fanon becomes indistinguishable from canon in the fandom. This narrative prioritizes their favorites and makes the other side of the ship look worse)

Hi! Thanks for the follow l! Wow another IchiRuki & BakuDeku shipper! I'm starting to realize that both ships have more parallels than I initially thought... I've been watching anime since I was a child, so Bleach was my second anime—technically 4th if you count Pokemon and DBZ but I don't really count those... So in a sense I was also "raised by" IchiRuki. They were my first OTP—alongside NejiTen—and played a huge part in getting me into shipping and fandom culture.

Over time I've learnt that although you should learn to pick your battles and practice fandom etiquette, you shouldn't allow others to make you feel small. You deserve to be vocal and proud of your passions without fear of harassment. That being said, I know not everyone is as thick-skinned as me—and there is no shame in wanting to prioritize your mental wellness. Even I get tired of the relentless attacks...

Wow "The Apothecary Diaries" mentioned! You have great taste! Getting a new episode of season 2 every week has definitely been the highlight of my year so far. I've been planning some more analysis posts for the series but want to wait until the season wraps up—since I haven't read the light novels or manga and thus don't want to mess up on the interpretations...

I have always written x readers (I’ve written one ship fic and that was Denki and jiro I love them) or maybe as a side pairing in a fic, but I DO ship characters. And maybe some rare pairs. Or at least not the first choice for most ppl so here’s some ships I ship and why! It’s all for fun, so if you don’t agree that’s okay!

I don’t know if this is a rare pair tbh but both DEFINITELY have more popular ships (kiribaku, bakudeku etc.)

I think their mutual friendship with Bakugo would be like a huge reason for their crush on each other. They can relate on that front.

I pretended a lot, I honestly think my whole childhood was just... Playing make believe. I didn't have friends, I was homeschooled for all my childhood except the first year, but even then other kids couldn't really understand me, I was weird. So, weird. And I pretended to be a boy cat superhero a lot, probably meant something that nobody wanted to look into.

Favorite school subject?

I had a love / hate relationship with psychology, but my favorite was probably history. It was easy.

Least favorite subject?

Chemistry. I hated chemistry.

If you could change any detail of your life right now, what would it be?

Best not catch anyone getting emotional over this one, but I'd bring my twin brother back. I'd do anything, just to have him here. No hesitation, that's what I'd change.

Imma get hate for this one but fuck it, Bakugo from my hero right... Yeah... That mf should've stayed dead, would've given more room for deku to grow, we would've gotten rid of the second most annoying character, he does the "rage character" archetype horrible, he's one of the worst written rivals of all time, his back story and the reason he's angry is ass, next topic on bakugo, you can girls need to go outside, get some dick, grass, weed, anything to calm you down, 1. It's a child, 2. He would most likely yell at you everyday, like I don't get it, also bakudeku is a horrible ship and you should feel bad, the only reason it's not the worst is cause deku x eri and deku x all might exist, actually fuck bakugo and fuck this fandom I rest my case good bye
